Human shield news: Protesters fail to stop coal train

Coal train on the Great Plains
One of the dopiest ideas to come from the Left in recent years--and there are so many to choose from--is the human shield movement. Several hundred progressives traveled to Iraq to live at likely Gulf War bombing sites before combat began, most got wise to the fact that not only were they dupes for Saddam Hussein, but that they could be killed--the horror!--while serving as a human shield.

This afternoon in Missoula, Montana, about 20 environmental whackos tried to stop a coal train from passing through. The Billings Gazette is not clear if these zealots were actually posted on the tracks as the coal train approached, but the police led the protestors away as the train neared--and they arrested seven of them for disorderly conduct.

And do you know what? If the greenies were on the tracks when the train arrived, they still wouldn't have stopped the coal shipment.

But the Montana protesters claimed victory because they slowed down the train.

Whoopee!
