Arkansas Dem Congressional candidate opposes EFCA

If enacted, the so-called Employee Free Choice Act will replace workplace secret ballot elections when workers decide whether to join a union with a free-to-peek petition drive called card check.

A union thug, possibly your supervisor, might be the person asking you to sign on the dotted line.

Big Labor and their Democratic enablers are trying shove EFCA down America's throat. Just like ObamaCare.

But one Democrat, Tim Wooldridge, an Arkansas candidate for Congress, says "No" to the Employee FORCED Choice Act.

From the Baxter Bulletin:

If elected, Wooldridge said he will vote against the Employee Free Choice bill now floating in Congress, should the current bill come to the House floor for a vote. He said Arkansas is a right-to-work state where people have an expectation of employment without regard for union status. Protections in current laws that offers individual privacy when deliberating forming or joining labor unions should remain a decision made privately without undue pressure from parties on either side of union issues.

Good for Wooldridge.

T-Paw to announce endorsements at Facebook town hall

In about an hour I will be attending the town hall discussed below.

From the Washington Post:

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will endorse seven Republican candidates for House and Senate at a Facebook town hall event tonight, according to well-informed sources.

The "Pawlenty Seven" are: Tim Burns in Pennsylvania's 12th district, Bob Dold in Illinois 10th, Sean Duffy in Wisconsin's 7th, Charles Djouin Hawaii's 1st, Pat Meehan in Pennsylvania's 7th and, on the Senate side, former Rep. Pat Toomey (Pa.) and Gov. John Hoeven (N.D.)

Pawlenty, a near-certain 2012 presidential candidate, will make the announcement at the start of the town hall, which begins at 7:15 eastern time tonight and will feature him taking 30 minutes of live questions.

"Washington is headed in the wrong direction," Pawlenty is expected to say. "These candidates share my common-sense approach to governing, and will work to stop the out-of-control spending in Washington." (Worth noting: Pawlenty isn't backing any incumbents, a move likely aimed at reinforcing his outsider status within the party.)

Obama's "laser focus" on jobs? Sallie Mae laying off 30 percent of work force

It appears that President Obama's "laser focus" on jobs really is a death star laser.

Powerhouse student loan provider Sallie Mae says layoffs are imminent as a result of President Obama's new student loan overhaul.

"This legislation will force Sallie Mae to reduce our 8,600-person workforce by 2,500," Conwey Casillas, Vice President of Sallie Mae Public Affairs, said in a statement to Fox News.

My guess if these Sallie Mae employees were members of a union, Obama would do everything in his power to protect their jobs.

    Hope and change, baby.

Obama's baby step on oil exploration

President Obama's announcement about off-shore oil exploration is not the big deal he's making it out to be. If oil is discovered in the limited areas he approved for exploration, will we be allowed to drill there? Based upon Obama's past rhetoric on this issue, and that of his party--I have my doubts.

Meanwhile, it's believed that there is plenty of oil within the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Nothing about ANWR from Obama.

Back in Obama's hometown of Chicago, gasoline costs over $3.00 a gallon.

Here's what Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has to say:

Senate Republicans have long supported efforts to find more American energy, and use less; we believe we must do both. While supporting conservation, electric cars, clean coal and nuclear energy, we also pushed for lifting the Congressional ban on offshore exploration, which was removed more than a year ago. Since then, we have been waiting to see whether the administration would follow through and open more areas for the development of American energy.

Today's announcement is a step in the right direction, but a small one that leaves enormous amounts of American energy off limits. And the proof of the administration's announcement will be in the implementation: will the administration actually take concrete steps to finish the studies, approve the necessary permits, and open these areas for production? Will they stand by as their allies act to delay the implementation in the courts?

The American people believe that to strengthen our national and energy security we should rely more on America's energy resources, and less on those of the Middle East. It's time to put America's energy to work for the American people, without the threat of a new national energy tax.

Obama will be the president for the next three years--he will certainly appoint as many left-wing judges, Sonia Sotomayor types, to the federal bench as possible--the type of jurists who will likely side with inflexible environmentalists over the vast majority of Americans who support a "Drill here, drill now, pay less" approach to our energy needs.

UPDATE 1:15pm CDT: American Solutions has more on Obama's False Promise on Offshore Drilling.

UPDATE 3:30pm CDT: Clarification: Obama's plan includes some off-shore exploration in Alaska, but not inside ANWR.

I'll tell you what I will say to Little Marathon Pundit--I helped sound the alarm about President Obama's leftward lunge, including his takeover of General Motors and the student loan industry, ObamaCare, and his attempt at an expensive cap and trade scheme.
